Money Saving Tips

Want to know how to save money? Following these easy tips will help!

Let's start with your favorite stores. Stay connected with them! Sign up to receive emails from them. They will send you coupons and insights to sales and special offers. Like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and so on with all social media sites. Do this for not only your favorite stores, but restaurants too!

Are there more ways to save money? Of course! You should sign up to become a member of web sites that pay you for shopping, such as ebates.com. When you shop a store through an ebates.com link, ebates.com will pay you a percentage of your total purchase. Ebates will also provide you with some sort of deal, $ of order, % off order, and/or free shipping! Sign up here: www.ebates.com
Another great site is shoprunner.com. My favorite use of shoprunner is when you order from Dominoes Pizza, it not only provides a rebate, but free delivery of your order! Sign up here: www.shoprunner.com

How else can you save money? Coupon of course! I suggest checking the store's policy for coupon redemption. The policy can be found on their web page or you can ask for a copy of it at the customer service desk.

Doubling Coupons
Many stores have designated days/times for doubling coupons. What is doubling coupons? This is when the store gives you 2X the amount off as your coupon states. For example, you have a coupon for $1.00 off a box of cereal. The store will give you $2.00 off. TIP:Use your high value coupons first, as many stores will only double the first 5 coupons.

Stack Coupons
Stacking coupons is when you use a manufacturers coupon and a store coupon for 1 item. For example, my favorite store to stack coupons at is BJ's Wholesale. It is a membership club, but is totally worth the money! I have a gold membership, which entitles me to 2% cash back on all in store purchases (some exclusions apply). They also have a gas station, which always has the lowest gas prices in town. Usually one cent cheaper, but every penny counts!! BJ's have their own coupon book they publish monthly, a seasonal (4 times per year) catalog containing coupons, and special catalogs they send out for holiday shopping. My last trip to BJ's, I had a manufacturer's coupon for $1.00 of a box of Drumsticks. BJ's had a coupon for $2.00 off a box of Drumsticks. I saved $3.00 on a box of 36 Drumsticks making that $9.99 box only $6.99! Perfect summer treats for the kids!
